Covenant Farm is a
family owned and operated farm located in north central Louisiana. We are about
eight miles north of Ruston, LA and Louisiana Tech University. We board, train,
and sell horses.
The farm is
run by a mother/daughter team. Kathy (mom) has owned and ridden horses
for nearly forty years. She has a bachelors degree in Agriculture from
Purdue University.
Gwen has been
riding since "before she was born". She has trained with top hunter,
jumper, and dressage trainers. Gwen has shown hunters and jumpers for
over fifteen years; and continues to train and show in hunter, jumper,
and dressage. Because she believes in continuing education as a
trainer, Gwen strives to better herself as both a rider and instructor
by training with internationally recognized instructors. Gwen completed
her training and testing for the German Trainer C license (Show Jumping,
Dressage, and Cross Country) at the Westfalische Reit-und Fahrschule
near Muenster, Germany under school director Martin Plewa (former coach
of German national team and President of Olympic Ground Jury Beijing
2008). She is a recognized trainer with the FN and has her FEI
passport. She trains on
a regular basis with Dave Thind of World Class Warmbloods, along with
participating in clinics. Gwen has competed in USEF, USDF, WTHJA, MHJA,
TSDS, and RREA recognized shows. She enjoys showing rated shows, as
well as just having fun at schooling shows. She has a bachelors degree
in Equine Science from Louisiana Tech University.
